Ouch, a chapter of Pike might have to foot a $4.5 million lawsuit on thier own

Story from - http://www.coloradoan.com/

The local Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity could be responsible for footing the bill of a $4.5 million lawsuit that will potentially be filed against them, an official at the fraternity’s headquarters said.

“The international fraternity does not take responsibility for the unauthorized acts of individuals who may have participated in alleged activities which are in violation of our standards,” wrote Justin Buck, executive director of the Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity, in an e-mail to the Coloradoan.

The lawsuit may come after the fraternity allegedly left $20,000 in damages at a Beaver Creek lodge after a night of partying in November.

The fraternity is not associated with Colorado State University after a serious of incidents caused the group to lose their official recognition as a student group from the university in fall 2005.

The fraternity is still recognized by the national organization.
